If you’ve followed a link here from a discussion expressing concerns about MAiD, welcome. We’ve set aside this page especially for people who are concerned about medical assistance in dying or opposed to it altogether. We want to hear what troubles you, what you’ve heard, and what you’d like answered. Our invitation is simple: an honest, open conversation, where concerns are taken seriously and claims are examined using facts and evidence.

Opposed to MAiD? Tell us why.

Ask us your hardest questions. We’ll take it seriously and respond with honesty and compassion.

We’re Paul and Kim, registered nurses with extensive experience in both palliative care and MAiD. Our goal isn’t to convince you to share our beliefs or accept MAiD. It’s to help people better understand what MAiD is, why people choose it, and why we support their right to make that choice.

Whether you support MAiD or oppose it is for you to decide. No one else gets to make that decision for you, including us. We hope to offer clear, accurate information so that whatever conclusion you reach, it’s informed by facts rather than misinformation.

What question or concern do you have?

Interested in exploring a little further?

Below are some articles we’ve written about common concerns and misunderstandings about MAiD, including claims we believe leave out important context or misrepresent the issue. We hope these help clarify what you may have heard and offer something useful to consider. If anything raises another question—or you feel we’ve missed something—please get in touch. We’d welcome the conversation.
